Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Virtual Assistant Insurance Claim Auditor to review, audit, and verify insurance claims for accuracy and compliance. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all claims are properly documented and processed according to policy and regulatory standards. In Short

  • Review insurance claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and payer guidelines.
  • Audit medical documentation and billing codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to verify proper claim submission.
  • Identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information and follow up for corrections or clarification.
  • Communicate with providers, billers, and insurance companies to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain records of audited claims and generate reports on audit findings.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, payer requirements, and insurance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (billing, coding, and compliance) to ensure timely and accurate claim processing.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in insurance claim auditing, billing, or medical coding.
  • Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, procedures, and billing practices.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and billing software (e.g., Kareo, Practice Fusion, AdvancedMD, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and document management tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
