Overview

The Field Service Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training to transit agencies, ensuring they can safely operate and maintain GILLIG vehicles.

In Short

  • Deliver instructor-led and hands-on technical training at customer locations.
  • Facilitate training across mechanical, electrical, and high-voltage systems.
  • Lead practical exercises focused on troubleshooting and repair processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during training engagements.
  • Identify technician skill gaps and provide feedback for training improvements.
  • Support field service activities including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Promote adoption of GILLIG training programs and resources.
  • Maintain technical proficiency across GILLIG vehicle systems.
  • Document training activities and customer interactions.
  • Travel extensively to customer sites across the U.S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the Commercial Vehicle Industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of GILLIG buses mechanically and electrically.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Telematics and computer software for diagnostics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and documentation experience.
  • Goal-oriented with customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to teach technical concepts to mechanics.
  • Commercial Driver License or willingness to obtain.
