Head of Platform Engineering - Remote

We are the creators of the pioneering IKEA Kreativ app, which allows customers to scan photorealistic models of their indoor spaces, then reimagine them with new furniture in life-like 3D, from anywhere – changing home commerce along the way.

In Short

• Manage a direct staff of 3-5 engineers & SREs in the USA.
• Build close partnerships with teams at IKEA in Europe.
• 70% of time managing/planning, 30% hands-on building/analyzing.
• Lead the Platform Engineering team's roadmap.
• Ensure reliable operation of a scalable, high-availability platform.
• Oversee technical architecture and operations for backend endpoints & APIs.
• Manage infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations.
• Partner with AI research teams for real-time data processing.
• Operate with autonomy and accountability.
• Shape business strategy through understanding and guidance.

Requirements
