Senior COBOL Developer - Remote

Overview

As a Senior COBOL Developer, you will support the United States Postal Service by analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and supporting code, ensuring the functionality and performance of applications.

In Short

• Analyze user/business software system requirements.
• Determine application functionality and perform upgrades.
• Maintain documentation for software development policies.
• Develop and document features and user stories.
• Implement best practices for scalability and maintenance.
• Assist with cost estimates and project planning.
• Respond to incidents in ServiceNow.
• Develop and maintain IT documentation.
• Lead project teams and provide training to team members.
• Ensure compliance with security clearance requirements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with COBOL applications.
• Knowledge of DB2 databases and SDLC practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Working knowledge of various programming languages.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience with VersionOne or other Agile management tools.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• U.S. residency requirement for security clearance.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred.
