Public Health Data Manager - Remote

Overview

GDIT is seeking a Public Health Data Manager to provide data management support to the CDC Office of Public Health Data, focusing on big data sets and ensuring data is ready for analysis.

In Short

• Manage and analyze large public health data sets.
• Develop and document data management tools using Python, R, or SQL.
• Perform data quality checks and data wrangling.
• Support the creation of dashboards and visualizations using PowerBI.
• Collaborate with health scientists to understand data needs.
• Maintain knowledge of data pipeline procedures.
• Document Standard Operating Procedures for data preparation.
• Ensure timely technical assistance for data requests.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds.
• Provide support for MMWR and other publications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in data management.
• Experience with Python, R, SQL, and Palantir.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with big data analysis techniques.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to obtain a CDC Security Investigation clearance.
• Experience in public health preferred.
