Field Engineer (Distribution Systems) - Remote

Overview

The Field Engineer role at GDIT involves providing technical expertise to modernize network design and implementation for various Air Force and Space Force bases globally, focusing on distribution systems.

In Short

• Provide technical expertise for network modernization.
• Coordinate with government points of contact for project execution.
• Assist project managers with stakeholder communications.
• Lead small implementation teams at Air Force and Space Force bases.
• Familiarity with ISP/OSP distribution systems design.
• Conduct fiber testing and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Work effectively in a virtual team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
• Must possess an active DoD Secret Level Clearance.
• Extensive travel required, with the possibility of reporting to the OKC office.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in IT upgrade projects in the DoD environment.
• Strong understanding of wired and general IT functions.
• Ability to read and analyze technical documents and governmental regulations.
• Strong coordination and organizational skills.
• Experience with MS Visio or related CAD tools is desired.
• Must be a US citizen.
