In Short

• Build a platform to create rich, stable, and compelling experiences for users.
• Work with Ruby on Rails and maintain the internal GraphQL API.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers using React, TypeScript, and Apollo.
• Take ownership of building, shipping, testing, deploying, and maintaining checkout iterations.
• Build scalable frontend & backend applications for business needs.
• Review pull requests and mentor junior engineers.
• Scope and plan projects with other developers.
• Communicate high-level architecture decisions.
• Solve performance issues within checkout and payment systems.
• Participate in other duties as determined by the company.

Requirements

• Passionate about software engineering and eager to learn.
• Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, or AngularJS.
• Understanding of CSS frameworks and preprocessors.
• Ability to write tests and understand their value.
• Desire to learn and openness to feedback.
• Understanding of design patterns and clean code principles.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
