Director of Finance - Remote

Overview

FOSSA is seeking a Director of Finance to manage the finance function end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and operational excellence while partnering strategically with the leadership team.

In Short

• Own the accounting & finance function, including close processes, AP/AR, payroll, and banking operations
• Manage company financials: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting
• Oversee cash flow, forecasting, and SaaS-specific revenue recognition (ASC 606)
• Ensure full tax compliance including sales tax, federal/state filings, and R&D support
• Lead compensation planning and commission management
• Handle investor reporting and external financial reporting
• Manage vendor relationships and finance systems/tools
• Collaborate with HR on compensation and benefits planning
• Analyze trends to mitigate financial risks
• Act as a strategic thought partner to the leadership team

Requirements

• 6 - 10+ years of finance and accounting experience, ideally in B2B SaaS
• Direct ownership of accounting and corporate finance functions
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and SaaS metrics
• Proven experience managing tax compliance across jurisdictions
• Hands-on expertise with sales commissions and compensation plans
• Comfortable with both tactical tasks and strategic thinking
• Exposure to HR processes and light legal/compliance work
• Experience managing at least one direct report
• Exceptional communication skills
• Thrives in a fast-moving startup environment
