Senior Full-Stack Developer (WordPress / React / AWS) - Remote

Overview

Filmbot provides customizable websites and a streamlined ticketing point-of-sale for cinemas and film festivals, powered by WordPress. We proudly support contemporary spaces and historical renovations from New York to California to Alaska to Australia, and are continuing to grow. This position offers the opportunity to make impactful contributions to an established product while providing meaningful support to the independent cinema and film festival community.

In Short

• Architect and develop features and bug fixes for our WordPress and React applications
• Conduct code reviews to maintain quality standards
• Collaborate with the CTO to improve architecture and engineering standards
• Translate product goals and business needs into written development requirements
• Contribute to and maintain our AWS infrastructure
• Assist the customer support team with technical troubleshooting
• Participate in our shared on-call rotation for emergency support coverage
• Serve as backup for emergency technical issues when the CTO is unavailable

Requirements

• Experience working with high-availability large-scale WordPress
• 5+ years experience with modern PHP, MVC Frameworks, and MySQL
• 3+ years of experience with AWS (RDS/EC2/S3)
• 2+ years experience with JavaScript (jQuery/React/Node), CSS, SCSS
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Familiarity with Vagrant, nginx, php-fpm, and the Linux command line
• Solid understanding of networking concepts
• Experience with e-commerce payment gateways and APIs, such as Stripe
• Proven experience managing time and team communication in a remote work environment
• Fluent in English
