Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, accounting principles, and a proven track record of leading a team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. This will be a remote/hybrid role.

In Short

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including the preparation and review of financial statements, general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and relevant legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and prepare for external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings as needed.
  • Monitor and improve financial systems and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, operations, IT) to support business needs and provide financial insights.
  • Ensure proper tax filing and reporting, including compliance with federal, state, local tax regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 -10 years of accounting/finance experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
