Communications Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Communications Specialist plays a key role on Feeding San Diego’s Marketing & Communications team, helping elevate our mission, strengthen trust in our work, and expand awareness of our hunger relief programs across San Diego County.

In Short

• Develop and execute strategic communications campaigns.
• Manage media relations and craft press materials.
• Support internal communications and executive messaging.

• Provide administrative support to the Director of Communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or marketing.
• Minimum two years of experience in communications or public relations.
• Strong understanding of media relations and corporate communication principles.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and project management tools.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Experience in non-profit marketing and communications preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid California driver’s license required.
