Senior/Staff Backend Engineer (Node.js) - Remote

Overview

Kape is a global cybersecurity company focused on protecting consumers' digital lives. We’re looking for a Senior Node.js Engineer to join our Payments & Marketing Tech team to build reliable, scalable backend systems.

In Short

• Design and develop high-performance backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and orchestrate distributed systems and workflows using Temporal.
• Develop APIs related to payments and subscription lifecycles.
• Migrate from a legacy monolith system to a Node.js-based microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with the app team for seamless integration.
• Engineer integrations with marketing tools and partner APIs.
• Participate in sustaining activities including issue triage and performance tuning.
• Design scalable and secure technical solutions.
• Champion engineering best practices.
• Provide technical mentorship and contribute to architectural decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Temporal.io or other workflow orchestration tools.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Proven experience with payment systems and marketing tech stacks.
• Skilled in designing and integrating APIs.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), Docker, CI/CD.
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to lead complex initiatives.
