Overview

Disney Legal is seeking an Attorney to provide legal support to ABC News and its related groups, handling various legal matters including editorial issues and FCC regulations.

In Short

• Serve as a supporting lawyer within the breaking news group.
• Provide legal advice for ABC News and its programming.
• Vetting news materials and advising on broadcast programming.
• Handle third-party subpoenas for news information.
• Research copyright claims and inquiries.
• Assist in reviewing political advertising.
• Work under pressure and manage priorities effectively.
• Provide vacation coverage for other lawyers.
• Collaborate with clients from various levels.
• Must be admitted to the New York State Bar or qualify for Registered In-House Counsel.

Requirements

• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze legal issues and propose solutions.
• At least two years of experience as an attorney.
• Preferred experience in media and FCC communications law.
• Strong interest in news and current events.
• Good judgment and discretion.
• Healthy sense of humor.
• Ability to work collegially with clients and colleagues.
• JD or equivalent required.
