DevOps Engineer - Remote

Overview

Element 84 is looking for experienced DevOps engineers with strong AWS experience to support the Technical Services Support Contract (TSSC) at the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS), a NASA-funded project. The candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile development environment performing operations, design, and development for the NASA Earthdata Cloud.

In Short

• 5-10 years of relevant experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• Strong AWS experience is essential.
• Experience with DevOps automation tools like Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with cloud-native architectural approaches.
• Knowledge of agile development practices.
• Experience with containerized applications and platforms.
• Willingness to support 24x7 operations.
• Strong communication skills are necessary.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience in developing data management systems.
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Strong experience with data engineering tools and technologies.
• Experience with secure software development practices.
• Ability to analyze and improve cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with web server technologies.
• Working understanding of code and script.
• Experience with Generative AI technologies is a plus.
• Experience in regulated contexts is preferred.
