Overview

The Coastal Risk Modeling Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced coastal risk models to assess and mitigate the impacts of climate change, sea level rise, and extreme weather events on coastal communities and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in coastal engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in coastal engineering or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of coastal engineering principles and processes.
  • Proficiency in numerical modeling and simulation software.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or R.
  • Experience with GIS and spatial analysis tools.
  • Proven data analysis and statistical modeling skills.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
  • Experience in coastal risk assessment and management.
  • Project management experience.
  • Understanding of coastal processes and dynamics.
  • Knowledge of climate change impacts on coastal environments.
  • Expertise in flood risk modeling and shoreline evolution forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
