Senior Research & Policy Analyst - Remote

Overview

The Senior Research and Policy Analyst supports the Northeast Regional Office's programmatic focus on energy and health issues by providing strategic and technical assistance. The position focuses on analyzing, writing and editing advocacy and technical documents, and developing the factual basis for lawsuits and administrative proceedings, and maintaining relationships with government decision-makers, clients and other partners to advance our advocacy.  This role is hybrid in New York City.

In Short

• Design and conduct policy/legislative research and analysis on clean energy and environmental health topics.
• Remain current on scientific, legal, and political developments.
• Draft and file information requests to state and federal agencies.
• Generate products through data analysis and GIS software.
• Conduct outreach to potential and existing client groups.
• Represent Earthjustice before government bodies and external coalitions.
• Develop and manage outreach plans for clean energy and healthy communities.
• Support clients and partners in building capacity of community-based groups.
• Manage non-legal interns and participate in organization-wide initiatives.
• Contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture.

Requirements

• Experience with transportation, energy, air pollution, climate, and environmental justice policy issues preferred.
• Graduate degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong research and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and computer skills, including data analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in effective communication and collaboration.
• Awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Desire to contribute to an inclusive work culture.
