Overview

The Inpatient Auditor is responsible for completing quality assurance reviews on internal and external inpatient coders, ensuring accurate data abstraction and compliance with coding guidelines.

• Conduct quality assurance reviews for internal and external coders.
• Train and onboard new inpatient coders.
• Validate coding accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
• Report quality results and track educational opportunities.
• Communicate audit findings to management and clients.
• Maintain reports on coder performance.

• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in client meetings and educational calls.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.

Requirements

• Approved AHIMA coding credential required.
• Minimum 5 years’ coding experience recommended.
• 3 years of inpatient coding in an acute care setting required.
• 3 years of auditing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-PCS coding is essential.
• SMART software experience preferred.
