• Seeking a highly skilled IDS/IPS Security Engineer Lead.
• Support advanced boundary protection services for a large federal agency.
• Take ownership of intrusion detection and prevention systems.
• Contribute to emerging detection methodologies.
• Lead critical security operations in a dynamic threat environment.
• Operate and maintain next-generation intrusion systems.
• Shape the evolution toward automated detection and LLM-based analytics.
• On-call availability for network impacting situations outside business hours.
• Conduct intrusion event analysis and support SOC incident response.
• Develop documentation and reports on systems status and performance.

Requirements

• 9+ years of security or cybersecurity experience.
• CISCO Firepower Threat Defense IDS/IPS, FMC experience.
• Prior job experience maintaining and troubleshooting IDS/IPS devices.
• Experience with Splunk and other SIEM tools.
• Proficiency with packet analysis/Wireshark.
• Networking knowledge in routing and switching, TCP/IP stack, IP subnets, VPN.
• Scripting skills in Python, Perl, JavaScript.
• Experience with threat analysis, triage, and mitigation.
• Experience with Linux.
• Certification in one or more of the following: Security+ or CISSP.
