Underwriting Assistant - Remote

Overview

The Underwriting Assistant at Donegal Insurance Group will support Commercial Lines Production and Staff Underwriters to ensure profitability and growth objectives are met, providing quoting support and processing endorsements.

In Short

• Select, price, and develop coverage terms for commercial lines accounts.
• Review new business applications to evaluate risk.
• Accept or decline risks based on underwriting policies.
• Contact agents for missing information.
• Assist data entry unit with processing transactions.
• Interpret insurance coverages for agents and insureds.
• Maintain good working relationships with agents.
• Review policy renewals for proper pricing.
• Assist in enhancing existing products.
• Participate in ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with a background in insurance.
• 1 to 3 years of commercial experience preferred.
• Commercial Technical Assistant experience will be considered.
• Professional insurance designations (CLCS, AU, CPCU, ARM) preferred.
