Motion Designer - Remote

Overview

The Motion Designer will be instrumental in shaping how motion enhances usability, feedback, and storytelling within our digital interfaces. Collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams, you’ll create seamless animations using tools like Rive, Lottie, and traditional platforms such as After Effects and Cinema 4D.

• Design UI-focused animations and microinteractions that support intuitive user experiences across web and mobile platforms.
• Work with Rive and Lottie to create performant, exportable animations ready for integration into product environments.
• Partner closely with product designers and engineers to embed motion into the product development lifecycle—from prototypes to production.
• Create supporting motion assets for product launches, demos, onboarding flows, and in-product education.
• Help other designers implement motion in our product by setting motion design guidelines for Deel products.
• Contribute to a scalable motion system and reusable animation libraries.
• Stay up to date with emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices in motion for digital product design.
• Collaboration with product and brand designers to create "ownable" UI moments that make the product experience unique.
• Work cross-functionally to advocate for motion as a core part of product thinking and visual storytelling.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Motion Design, or ability to show you can learn and do it at hyper speed.
• Strong portfolio highlighting UI animations, interactive prototypes, and motion systems used in digital products.
• Proficient in Rive, Lottie (Bodymovin), Adobe After Effects, and tools like Figma and Cinema 4D.
• Understanding of animation principles, interface behavior, timing, and easing in the context of user interaction.
• Familiarity with modern product development tools and workflows; ability to collaborate with engineers on implementation.
• You understand when motion design should be used in interfaces, making your contribution effective for the development of the product rather than obstructing it.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain motion rationale.
• Experience building or contributing to motion design systems or libraries that scale across large product ecosystems.
