Manager I, Engineering - Fabric Gateways (Lisbon) - Remote

Overview

The Fabric Gateways team is responsible for building and maintaining a suite of managed proxy fleets that allow developers to focus on building and improving products and services, without being networking experts. We enable Datadog engineers to expose their services to both internal and external customers in a secure, reliable and scalable way without worrying about network interactions in distributed systems.

In Short

• Lead and cultivate a team of engineers with a diverse skill-set.
• Identify the highest impact initiatives for the team.
• Define inspiring objectives and break them down into key results.
• Ensure services have accurate SLIs and are constantly available.
• Contribute to the team’s technical direction and architectural decisions.
• Write code or troubleshoot issues when needed.

Requirements

• Experience managing a team of software engineers.
• Backend programming experience (C++, Go, Rust).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP, DNS).
• Experience troubleshooting Linux and network performance.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
