Cloud Financial Operations Analyst - Remote

Overview

The Cloud FinOps team is responsible for all things cloud cost related, which includes providing engineering teams with meaningful cloud spend visibility, empowering finance and executive leadership to understand the complexities of cloud costs, securing the best reservation discount rates, and identifying cost savings opportunities. Having worked on these problems for several years, we already have a lot of the basics covered, and we’re looking to push our team’s capabilities to the next level.

In Short

• Drive efforts to purchase and manage an inventory of reservation commitments for AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Use Datadog cloud cost tools, SQL, and spreadsheets to build reservation models.
• Prove out the best strategic options and anticipate usage changes.
• Focus on reservation management initially, with opportunities for cost savings efforts.
• Collaborate with finance and engineering teams.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience in managing reservation purchasing and management processes.
• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable with complex cloud cost concepts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in both Engineering and Finance languages.
