Senior Cybersecurity Consultant - Remote

Overview

The Cybersecurity Consultant role, with a focus on Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), is responsible for supporting and maturing an organisation’s cyber security governance framework, risk management processes, and compliance with Australian standards and regulations.

In Short

• Develop, implement, and maintain GRC frameworks and policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and security assessments.
• Work with security architects and legal teams for compliance.
• Identify security requirements for new applications.
• Evaluate IT security architecture and recommend improvements.
• Liaise with business units on risk and compliance reporting.
• Consult on security policies and procedures.
• Assist with security awareness training programs.
• Investigate and report on security incidents.
• Monitor emerging cybersecurity technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
• 5+ years in IT, with 3 years in GRC roles.
• Experience in delivering compliance programs.
• Expert knowledge of Information Security principles.
• Understanding of IT Security principles.
• Knowledge of current legislation governing IT.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior consultants.
• Effective presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to chair meetings and lead under pressure.
• Technical knowledge of business risks and vulnerabilities.
