Estimator I - Remote

Overview

The Estimator works closely with his/her team, internal teammates, design team, and owners during the Design Phase to develop estimates used as tools that guide the design from conceptual to construction documents.

In Short

• Assists in developing Project Scopes of Work, Construction Schedules, Site Logs, and Project Buyouts.
• Creates and reviews Program/Conceptual estimates through interpreting blueprints and estimating job costs.
• Conducts site visits and attends pre-bid meetings to understand project scope.
• Updates cost data files and estimate templates.
• Forecasts labor, material, and equipment costs based on the project schedule.
• Maintains good working relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Identifies potential problems with materials or design that could affect costs or schedules.
• Works on multiple estimates simultaneously.
• Assists with Bulletin and Change Order Pricing Review.
• Interfaces with clients to ensure technical specifications and designs are feasible.

Requirements

• 4-year Engineering Degree or Construction Management Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of construction estimator experience.
• Basic knowledge of construction and understanding of building components and systems.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, OnCenter, Bluebeam, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Experience with estimating projects in the BIM/VDC environment is preferred.
• Must be able to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
