Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing daily financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping.

In Short

• Record and allocate daily bank transactions, including checking accounts and credit card activity.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly and quarterly bank and credit card statements.
• Maintain and reconcile Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
• Allocate income, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and expenses to multiple projects.
• Reconcile general ledger and all supporting books; ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
• Monitor bookkeeping accuracy, reviewing entries prepared by junior accountants or bookkeepers.
• Prepare estimates, invoices, and salary accruals based on time-tracking systems.
• Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet (BS).
• File standard business forms as needed.
• Assist in the year-end 1099-NEC/MISC reporting and annual IRS forms.

Requirements

• Experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
