Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Remote

Overview

Cribl is a remote-first company looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our System Test team. This role focuses on improving product quality through deep technical testing initiatives.

In Short

• Lead initiatives to improve testing coverage across Cribl’s product suite.
• Analyze customer-reported issues to identify risks and patterns.
• Collaborate with development to understand system behaviors and test strategies.
• Partner with teams for root cause analysis and quality improvements.
• Design and evolve test frameworks and automation systems.
• Define multi-phase roadmaps for testing enhancements.
• Mentor other SDETs and engineers in best practices.
• On-call or off-hours duties may be required.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or SDET.
• Expertise in analyzing complex systems and designing test strategies.
• Experience with cloud and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java).
• Experience creating and scaling test frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills using customer data and metrics.
• Success in driving cross-functional quality initiatives.
• Familiarity with data-intensive systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor peers.
