Database Administrator - Remote

Overview

The Database Administrator works within a team that is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, availability, and security of our company’s data and database systems.

In Short

• Proactively monitor database management systems to prevent and mitigate performance and availability issues
• Perform SQL analysis and evaluate database performance to maximize efficiencies
• Develop and apply automation to increase reliability while reducing toil
• Install, configure, and manage new database systems in public cloud
• Analyze query efficiency and provide recommendations to application development teams
• Research and participate in the implementation of new database features
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex, high-severity issues
• Forecast and manage resource utilization requirements across multiple environments
• Follow the standards and practices of the Cority Information Security Management System

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience supporting MS SQL Server 2017, 2019, and newer
• 1+ year of experience supporting Amazon RDS or Azure SQL Database
• Experience with developing automation scripts and internal tools
• Understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• Experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
• Practical expertise with PowerShell or other scripting environments
• Knowledge of data management including backups and recovery models
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL is an asset
• Knowledge of SQL Server tools
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
