Senior DevOps Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer for our client in the telecommunications industry in the Bern area.

In Short

• Development and implementation of solution architectures for a highly secure private cloud.
• Building and operating automated server platforms based on Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Designing and implementing system landscapes with Red Hat and/or SuSe products.
• Automating physical and virtual systems using scripting and Ansible.
• Integration and operation of CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery and quality assurance.
• Monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of infrastructure for performance, security, and scalability.
• Collaboration with development teams to ensure smooth deployments.
• Documentation of system architectures and processes.

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in agile software development in a corporate environment.
• Master's degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Extensive experience in building and operating Linux-based system landscapes (Red Hat from version 7, SuSe from version 12).
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift and their automation.
• Experience with open-source technologies, REST APIs, and containerization (Docker).
• Proficient in tools like Git, RPM, VMWare (vSphere), Postfix.
• Knowledge of network configurations (firewalld, iptables, routing tables).
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Knowledge in creating technical concepts and UML modeling.
• Very good German and English language skills.
• Impeccable character and continuous residence in Switzerland for at least 5 years.
