FOIA Analyst - Remote

Overview

The FOIA Analyst will support the legal mission of a large federal agency by processing FOIA requests, creating correspondence, and facilitating communication with various stakeholders.

In Short

• Process new and backlogged FOIA requests.
• Prepare FOIA request folders.
• Enter request data in the FOIA tracking database.
• Draft response letters and correspondence.
• Communicate with requesters and negotiate details of records requested.
• Coordinate searches for responsive documents.
• Review records for responsiveness and determine release eligibility.
• Ensure compliance with FOIA exemptions.
• Maintain excellent communication skills.
• Work independently and obtain security clearance.

Requirements

• Six years of experience with FOIA requests.
• Knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations.
• Experience in redacting confidential information.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Government security clearance capability.
• Prior federal government experience is a plus.
• Experience with FOIA tools like FOIA EXPRESS.
• Active security clearance preferred.
