Overview

Manulife / John Hancock is seeking a Senior Disaster Recovery Consultant to ensure information risk management through effective disaster recovery planning and execution.

In Short

• Participate in key projects ensuring disaster recovery standards are met.
• Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans.
• Provide mentorship on recovery methods and testing procedures.
• Work with IT and project management teams to ensure system resilience.
• Guide selection of disaster recovery solutions in a cloud-based environment.
• Collaborate with global risk teams to improve disaster recovery programs.
• Perform vendor risk assessments for disaster recovery compliance.
• Support audits and evidence collection as required.
• Communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement in disaster recovery practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Technical knowledge of systems, networking, and data replication.
• Experience with cloud-based architecture and recovery solutions.
• Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• University degree in Computer Science, Business, or Finance preferred.
• Superb interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Professional certification in BCP (CBCP or MBCP) preferred.
