Communications Director - Remote

Overview

The Communications Director is responsible for guiding core strategic communications, which includes public relations, marketing, content creation, and crisis response for the Homelessness is Solvable campaign.

In Short

• Serve as a key public spokesperson and ambassador for the Campaign’s priorities.
• Support network partners in aligning their communications.
• Respond to time-sensitive requests from media and policymakers.
• Lead in leveraging communications to prevent crises.
• Establish strategy for generating high-impact content.
• Manage media relations and secure coverage.
• Provide support to communities on communication strategy.
• Supervise staff and external partners.
• Model key behaviors for learning and progress.
• Develop and track meaningful outcome metrics.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of high-performance writing and editing.
• Experience in electoral campaigns or issue-based advocacy.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• Understanding of housing policy and homeless response systems preferred.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills.
• Marketing and research experience is a plus.
