Staff Software Engineer, Backend - Onchain DevX - Remote

Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer at Coinbase, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and executing core solutions that drive our systems in the onchain development space.

In Short

• Lead the new Onchain Pod and define its charter, vision, mission, and roadmap.
• Work with stakeholders to identify pain points in the onchain development lifecycle.
• Architect and build new tooling to improve onchain development.
• Drive the evolution of Web3 development toward more reliable and ergonomic tooling.
• Take ownership of the team's processes and services.
• Mentor and collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Stay current with emerging trends in the Web3 tooling ecosystem.
• Foster a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Passionate about enabling onchain development.
• Experience with smart contract deployments and management (EVM).
• Deep understanding of popular L1s and L2s.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS) and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
