Overview

As a Patient Financial Services Representative I at Children’s Wisconsin, you will play a critical role in supporting the revenue cycle by providing exemplary customer service to patients and families, assisting with account balances, and navigating financial assistance options.

• Answer inbound calls within the Patient Accounts - Customer Service department.
• Provide empathetic service to patients and families regarding financial issues.
• Make outbound calls to negotiate payment plans and collect outstanding balances.
• Process financial assistance applications and resolve account issues.
• Troubleshoot billing and payment posting issues.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure effective service delivery.
• Maintain composure in escalated situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and physicians.
• Utilize knowledge of revenue cycle operations and insurance processing.
• Work fully remote as part of a dedicated healthcare team.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred.
• One year of experience in insurance, collections, or call center customer service.
• Knowledge of claims processing and computerized systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills to address patient inquiries.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Team player with collaboration and flexibility skills.
• Ability to read and interpret insurance explanations of benefits.
• Experience in a hospital setting is preferable.
