Underwriter - Energy, Infrastructure, & Project Finance - Remote

Overview

The Energy, Infrastructure, & Project Finance underwriter is responsible for leading all aspects of the underwriting process for complex energy, infrastructure, and project finance loans and investments, including Shared National Credits (SNC). This role independently assesses credit risk to ensure transactions align with the organization’s credit standards, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Lead the end‑to‑end underwriting process for energy, infrastructure, and project finance transactions.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Develop, analyze, and review complex financial models and projections.
• Underwrite and support SNC loans, working alongside agent banks.
• Perform independent credit analysis and annual reviews for SNC transactions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external lender groups for credit approvals.
• Review agent bank credit packages and financial models for performance assessment.
• Prepare clear credit memoranda for loan committee review.
• Conduct market and company research to support underwriting assumptions.
• Review complex legal documents related to energy and infrastructure transactions.

• Knowledge of USDA programs and regulations is a plus.
