Overview

We are a young team from the RWTH Aachen environment, pragmatically making the energy transition with Calvergy, building an AI-supported platform that models corporate energy systems as digital twins, comparing options like waste heat utilization, CHP, heat pumps, KWK, PV, or batteries, and deriving clear and sustainable supply concepts.

In Short

  • Modeling and analysis of energy systems (including heat pumps, CHP, PV, batteries, E-boilers, etc.)
  • Development of scenarios for cost and CO₂ optimization
  • Validation & balances: energy/mass balances, COP/effectiveness curves, partial load behavior checks; sensitivity & what-if analyses
  • Participation in the sizing and selection of suitable technologies
  • Close collaboration with real customer cases from industry and commercial enterprises
  • Technical feedback directly influences model parameterization and roadmap
  • Close cooperation with backend/frontend teams

Requirements

  • Degree in process engineering, energy technology, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field
  • Understanding of thermodynamic processes and/or energy systems
  • Initial experience with modeling, simulation, or optimization is desirable
  • Analytical thinking, enjoyment of complex systems, and sustainable solutions
  • Independent, structured working style and desire to take responsibility in a startup environment

Benefits

  • Future perspective: good collaboration may lead to permanent employment or company participation
  • Startup spirit: direct collaboration with the founding team, flat hierarchies, quick decisions
  • Opportunity to directly contribute your ideas to our product
  • Real impact: your work contributes to pilot projects with industrial companies
  • Workplace in Aachen co-working spaces with a lot of creative freedom or remote only
  • Flexibility: free scheduling to fit with studies and exam phases

Calvergy UG

Calvergy UG is a dynamic startup team emerging from the RWTH Aachen environment, dedicated to facilitating the energy transition through innovative solutions. They are developing an AI-driven platform that creates digital twins of corporate energy systems, allowing users to compare options such as waste heat utilization, combined heat and power (CHP), heat pumps, photovoltaics (PV), and batteries. The platform aims to provide clear and sustainable energy supply concepts, enabling users to find viable solutions for complex energy systems quickly and intuitively, ultimately reducing energy costs by up to 25% and significantly lowering CO2 emissions. With a focus on collaboration and ownership, team members work closely with the founding team, testing ideas with real users and making an immediate impact in a fast-paced startup environment.
