Overview

The Research Associate is a valued member of the Budget Center’s growing team that supports the advancement of our strategic agenda through research and analysis, helps author innovative reports, and interacts with local, state, and national partners.

In Short

Collect, clean, and analyze state and local data.
Prepare charts and graphics for reports and presentations.
Assist in drafting written materials.
Track legislation and policy developments.
Participate in public education and outreach activities.
Support responses to information requests from stakeholders.
Engage in equity-focused efforts and professional development.
Collaborate with analysts and cross-functional teams.
Strong commitment to social, economic, and racial equity.
Flexible work arrangements available.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
Experience in public policy research or related field.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Experience with Stata or similar statistical software is a plus.
Familiarity with data visualization platforms preferred.
Willingness to learn and receive feedback.
