The Patient Care Technician II provides essential patient care under the direction of licensed clinicians, ensuring comfort and safety for patients while assisting healthcare teams in delivering high-quality care.

In Short

  • Provide patient care and support daily living activities.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients.
  • Perform basic medical procedures including EKGs and phlebotomy.
  • Participate in patient safety checks and fall prevention strategies.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to patients’ needs and build rapport.
  • Replenish unit supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Attend required meetings and comply with health regulations.
  • Precept new Patient Care Technicians.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum of 800 hours of experience as a PCA I.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Commitment to maintaining a respectful and professional environment.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and education.
