Overview

The Echo Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing echocardiology examinations, gathering clinical data, and providing patient care under the supervision of a Senior Ultrasonographer and Cardiologist.

In Short

  • Perform echocardiology examinations including Transesophageal techniques.
  • Gather and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Assist physicians with interventional exams.
  • Transfer digitized echo studies to the Echo PACS system.
  • Monitor equipment and maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Perform on-call duties as required.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure quality patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participate in maintaining departmental standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of Ultrasonography or related field.
  • Minimum one year experience in diagnostic echocardiology.
  • ARDMS certification preferred within one year of hire.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
