Overview

The Recipient Account Collections Specialist at Cochlear plays a vital role in supporting patients with their account collections, ensuring exceptional service and compliance with healthcare regulations.

In Short

  • Fully remote position supporting Cochlear Americas region.
  • Responsible for collection follow-up on open accounts receivable.
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Interact with patients to resolve account issues and explain account activity.
  • Process patient payments and payment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  • Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate positively within a team.
  • Work with sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Participate in the Recipient phone queue and SFHC case queue.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in patient medical billing/collections.
  • Knowledge of medical collections process and A/R principles.
  • Familiarity with Revenue Cycle Management and medical terminology.
  • Understanding of Commercial Health Insurance Plans, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to manage multiple changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult conversations.
  • Must possess work rights in the United States.
