Accountant / Bookkeeper - Remote

Overview

Bullpen Talent is looking for an amazing Accountant / Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will have worked in Accounting Firms or a small company in a similar role.

In Short

• Manage bookkeeping and write-up services, ensuring transactions and ledgers are accurate and timely.
• Reconcile transactions using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms) on a regular basis.
• Perform monthly invoicing, including handling prorated amounts, adjustments, and one-time payments.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Provide updates to management or clients regarding cash flow, expenses, and payroll requirements.
• Process payroll, including calculation of commissions, bonuses, and any necessary adjustments.
• Prepare financial statements and conduct financial analyses to support informed client decision-making.
• Prepare financial reports on both a monthly and ad-hoc basis, offering insights into financial performance and cash flow.
• Advise clients on accounting software selection and implementation, assisting with transitions and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate and prepare estate and trust tax filings, as well as other required tax documentation.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain financial concepts clearly to clients.
• Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
• Experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and keen to adapt to new platforms.
• Background in agriculture, real estate, or small business accounting is a plus.
• Prior experience in an accounting firm or client-facing accounting environment preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and acting with integrity.
