Shopify Technical Architect - Remote

Overview

The Shopify Technical Architect is responsible for providing technical project oversight and thought leadership to the Engineering Team, Project Management Organization, and the Sales Department, focusing on eCommerce projects.

• Provide technical leadership and oversight on assigned projects.
• Ensure effective project and client involvement.
• Support sales initiatives with technical consultation.
• Architect and design platform solutions based on client requirements.
• Enforce best practices for development on the platform.
• Participate in project discoveries for technical support.
• Initial technical escalation point for project teams and clients.
• Support project teams through key project events.
• Stay updated on technical and functional dependencies.
• Assist in onboarding and training of new employees.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience managing technical teams.
• 5+ years in large scale web application development.
• Deep knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile processes.
• Understanding of technologies like Javascript, Liquid, HTML, CSS, SOAP, REST, GraphQL, Git, Shopify.
• Ability to communicate and document technical designs.
• Capable of driving and defending design models and best practices.
