UNPAID VOLUNTEER - Principal/Senior Research Officers (Energy & Environment) - Remote

Overview

The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteer-led think tank supporting and advocating for the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change. We are looking for passionate and senior research volunteers to join the Energy & Environment Research Division as Senior/Principal Research officers, specializing in either Energy or Environmental Policy.

In Short

• Conduct independent primary and secondary research in renewable energy, carbon trading, biodiversity, and climate change adaptation.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using suitable methodologies.
• Deliver high-quality research outputs, including reports and presentations.
• Provide research guidance and mentoring to junior researchers.
• Support project management and divisional administration tasks.
• Engage with stakeholders and establish strategic partnerships.
• Work closely with the Director of Research (Energy and Environment).
• Focus on developing-country governments and their needs.
• Contribute to the mission of BCI in combating climate change.
• Volunteer role with no financial compensation.

Requirements

• Strong research and leadership skills.
• Experience in energy or environmental policy.
• Methodological approach to research.
• Passion for stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in biodiversity, circular economy, or renewable energy.
• Ability to analyze and present data clearly.
• Experience in mentoring or guiding junior researchers.
• Project management experience is a plus.
