Overview

Blackbird Health is looking to hire a Billing Specialist to join our growing team. This role is essential in managing insurance accounts receivable and assisting patients with billing and insurance-related issues.

In Short

• Work with insurance A/R and assist patients with billing issues.
• Resolve denied claims and process payment postings.
• Communicate with patients and clinicians regarding billing.
• Investigate insurance denials and ensure timely submissions.
• Process refunds and maintain patient account accuracy.
• Support a collaborative work environment.
• Engage with patients through various communication channels.
• Work with EHR/PM systems like Athena and EPIC.
• Provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of healthcare billing experience.
• Knowledge of medical billing and insurance terminology.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
• Experience in a customer service setting.
• Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Collaborative mindset.
• Proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
• Previous experience in a behavioral health setting (preferred).
