Overview

The VA Billing Specialist will play an essential role in processing VA (Veterans Affairs) claims and ensuring accurate, timely billing. This role requires a solid understanding of VA claims requirements, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to issue resolution. As part of the RCM team, the VA Billing Specialist will support efforts to optimize VA claim processing, minimize denials, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Process VA billing claims, ensuring accurate and compliant submissions.
  • Review claims for completeness and adherence to VA billing standards.
  • Monitor claim rejections and denials, investigate root causes.
  • Conduct regular follow-up on outstanding claims.
  • Collaborate with Client Success Managers to address client billing inquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VA billing requirements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of all billing activity.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide updates and relevant claim information to clients.
  • Utilization of phone and email to perform job functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in medical billing, with specific experience in VA claims preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications in medical billing or coding are a plus.
  • Proficiency in billing software and familiarity with VA claims procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
