In Short

• Join the Platform Engineering team at Astronomer, focusing on the production infrastructure.
• Make high-quality, data-driven decisions on building the next generation of the production platform.
• Own and build testing, building, and deploying code in a high-scale PaaS environment.
• Collaborate across the company on designing production systems and setting technology standards.
• Participate in incident management and evolve platform practices.
• Work closely with a small team to build out the Platform/Reliability practice.
• Create and maintain comprehensive internal documentation for systems and processes.

• Participate in on-call rotation for owned services.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Non-Abstract Systems design and implementation.
• Proficiency in Python, Golang, and Kubernetes (CKA or equivalent).
• Experience with observability principles and technologies.
• Strong communication skills, especially in a globally distributed team.
• A passion for reliability and operational excellence.
• Ability to estimate work accurately and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Experience with software development best practices.
• Proactive in ownership and accountability.
