Electrical Design Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Electrical Design Engineer will join a multi-disciplinary team within the Approving Authority, supporting both client sites. The team develops and maintains design substantiation, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness in line with regulatory standards and best practices.

• Join a multidisciplinary team responsible for safety and design assurance.

• Create and update EIMT schedules and operating procedures.
• Produce Periodic Review of Safety (PRS) reports.
• Present designs to nuclear safety committees.
• Provide expert advice to internal/external stakeholders.
• Conduct Independent Technical/Peer Reviews (ITA/IPR).
• Apply engineering knowledge in high-risk nuclear environments.
• Review contractor reports and safety case submissions.
• Check calculations and technical documents from team members.

Requirements

• Experienced Electrical Engineer with strong HV plant & distribution knowledge.
• Familiar with British & European design standards.
• Skilled across concept, detailed design, and construction phases.
• Experience in assessing electrical equipment hazard resilience.
• Proven ability to author technical justifications for electrical design changes.
• Track record of providing electrical input on multi-disciplinary projects.
