In Short

• Seeking an Underwriter to help build the Construction business.
• Role can be based in Richmond, VA or remotely.
• Review complex policies and verify acceptability based on guidelines.
• Determine acceptance, modification, or decline of risks.
• Oversee and approve endorsements.
• Resolve premium audit disputes.
• Utilize underwriting tools for classifications and rates.
• Consult with agents/brokers for information and quotes.
• Manage assigned underwriting territory and mentor team members.
• Conduct educational sessions within the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 2-5 years of experience in underwriting.
• Understanding of negotiation processes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Preferred insurance educational work, IIA and CPCU designation.
• Detail-oriented with initiative and ability to work independently.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to travel.
• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
