Project Engineer - Battery Energy Storage Systems - Remote

In Short

• Lead engineer reviewing the BESS and HV designs of utility scale projects.
• Review civil, structural, and electrical scope for RFP package submittals.
• Review and respond to technical RFI responses throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform due diligence on project documentation and communicate fatal flaws.
• Manage the EORs during the design phase of utility scale BESS projects.
• Review electrical design calculations using standard engineering software.
• Provide accurate engineering budget estimates for time and costs.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Willingness to travel to construction sites.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction staff to develop best practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as an engineer in solar or BESS.
• Professional Engineering Registration (PE) preferred.
• Electrical testing and field commissioning experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in engineering project management philosophy.
• Knowledge of engineering and renewable energy systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD and related design software.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office and project controls.
• Proficient in Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and similar tools.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; Master's preferred.
