Overview

ArenaNet is seeking a Senior Tools Engineer to enhance tools and workflows for game development, focusing on improving developer efficiency and collaboration.

In Short

  • Own and drive tools and workflow development for an exciting new game.
  • Proactively identify and resolve workflow issues.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines including tech artists and designers.
  • Write outstanding documentation for tools and workflows.
  • Advocate for good practices and effective processes.
  • Handle team frustrations with empathy and compassion.
  • Customize tools using Unreal Engine and assist in validation processes.
  • Experience with build systems and additional tools is a plus.
  • Open to remote work from multiple states or onsite in Bellevue, WA.

Requirements

  • Experience as a tools engineer within the Unreal Engine environment.
  • Proficient in C++ and C# programming languages.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with UGS, UMG, Slate, and Python is beneficial.
  • Commitment to improving team workflows and practices.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for game development and supporting fellow developers.
