Consultant - Ecology - Remote

Overview

This role is part of Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis’ offices globally.

In Short

• Coordinate and complete assigned tasks and projects within the Business Unit or project team.
• Undertake ecological desk studies and environmental constraints studies.
• Collate data for ecological appraisal and assist with biodiversity strategies.
• Assist with license applications and develop mitigation and monitoring plans.
• Participate in training on best practices and survey standards.
• Experience in ecological consultancy or conservation is required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS and bat analysis software is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial.
• Proficiency in a foreign language is advantageous.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification of Masters in Zoology/Ecology/Conservation Biology or relevant field.
• Membership in a Professional Body (e.g., CIEEM) is desirable.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience required.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Understanding of environmental legislation and policy.
• Experience in writing ecological reports.
• Ability to identify taxa/species using field guides.
• Knowledge of UK or European bat species is an asset.
• Basic environment assessment knowledge of UK EIA and Town Planning Regulations.
• Adherence to biosecurity and health and safety protocols.
